Problem 3:  Shells, Ribs, and Work Planes

Introduction

Attempt this problem after completing Tutorial 3.  The problem will test your knowledge of simple feature creation tools, such as shells and ribs, and the use of work planes.

Problem Statement

Extrude the 200 mm diameter cylinder shown below.  The height of the cylinder should be 150 mm.

 

 

Shell the cylinder to have a wall thickness of 10 mm, as shown .

 

 

Add an 8 mm thick rib to the inside of the cylinder, as shown in below.  Hint: If you started the cylinder sketch correctly, you should not need to create more work planes.  However, you will need to define the correct planes for drawing the rib.
