And it was an icy one!
A year ago I swapped the polyurethane motor mounts out of The Crusty Chevy for rubber, in an effort to chase down a vibration. The poly was not the culprit, but the replacement mounts had their own issue.
Today I swapped them back.
For reasons inexplicable (the battery pack was sitting directly above where I was welding, it may have cooked and melted), one of my Milwaukee 18V batteries went to the great charger in the sky.
I took it apart, found the battery numbers, and ordered a set off Amazon for $35. Much better than the $100 for a new pack locally.
November 2017 issue of Grassroots Motorsports Magazine had a wee reference of The Fiendish Firefly. Totally puts wind in my sales; I love this magazine!
15 years of dreaming, 8 years of building, and it moves under its own power for the first time e-v-a-r! The “rod knock” sound was a plastic shield hitting the flywheel (Whew! I did NOT want to have to pull the motor!).
