A father built this 3/4 scale VolksRod out of a real VW. Heavily modified to make it perfectly smaller. Awesome!

You need to check out the video at the bottom of the page. They coat their burgers in Lard. Yes. Lard. They go through more Lard per week than fries. Aieeeeee. I want to eat there, just once.

The Case for Working With Your Hands

I was forwarded this link to a very interesting article about "working with your hands," written by a PhD (political philosophy) who now runs a motorcycle repair shop.

I highly recommend giving this a read-through, it may alter your perspective of trades and tradespeople - especially given the "academic" perspective by the author.

Knox Mountain Hillclimb

I didn't get to spend as much time on the hill as I would have liked to, but I did get to see a wack of my buddies again, and my buddy Sheridan Empey broke the SP1 record again: 2:05.395! That's freaking ridiculous in a naturally aspirated Honda CRX. He breaks the record just about every year in that car!

Johnny Sandhu flew his full-interior 4000lb SP3 Firebird to 1:59.165, into the "under 2m club" - Awesome.

Todd Wilkie pulled a 2:11.873 for his first time up the hill, and in his 4AGZE-powered AE86 Corolla running SPX:

Tyson Kaempfer, also in SPX ran 2:04.440 in CRX set up very similarily to Sheridan's.

Campbell Carlyle ran a new "dog-box" tranny, and an improved front splitter in his very rare 1LE Firebird (also in SP3) but ran half a second behind Johnny.

Allen Reid brought home the fastest time on the hill, with a 1:52.612 in their MGBGTV8:

And in the car show I ran into the owner of this car, Justin Dueck, whom I taught Art Metal to at Kelowna Secondary School in 2002. Neat. Took me a day or two to fully remember, but I do remember him. Nice kid. Well, adult now.

Drank my first Red Bull too - very tasty.

Yay! I figured out SSI!

No, it wasn't that hard. My new DNS allows Server Side Includes, so instead of editing a bagillion web pages with that one new project link or whatever. Annoying.

I would, however, like to learn how to code PHP. It looks like it might be the cat's meow.

Continuously, though, my day job and my time comittment to my family get in the way. Oh well. Boo Hoo.

No more riding the coat-tails of the freebies. Besides, I was paying money to ditch Geocities ads anyway.
