Technology pages have reappeared, but are now for the General Technology course I am teaching. This course is kind of a "Pre-Engineering" course and runs half year. Course outline is listed, and projects will be documented.
Since the FAQ's were getting kind of big, I moved them to their own page.
I also axed the search engine, since I've had nothing but problems with it.
School has started for the year, and I'm settling in. Things are very different than at my last school, but it's all just an adjustment.
September 22/23 was the British Columbia Autoslalom Championship.
With a bit of fear, I took the Sinister Sentra.
The first day, I was not very fast at all. The course consisted of numerous sweepers, and I do not do well with sweepers. My Arch Nemesis Guido was hot on my heels, only 0.05 seconds behind me! I just could not go any faster. My only hope was that I could get him so liquored that evening that I could beat him Sunday. Unfortunately for me, He took it easy on the hooch.
The second day, also Regional #7, was much better. The course had a number of tight transitions, and a long linear slalom. Guido was within a second or two of me, so on my last run I decided to pull out all the stops and drive the Sentra as hard as I drove the Civic. This dropped my times significantly, and I was able to take the championship. I took 1st in H/Stock, and came in 9th overall.
And that event concludes the season of autocross for this year.
In preparation, I ordered my complete suspension from Shox.com and installed a full set of polyurethane bushings to start with. Later this month I will install Tokico springs and shocks, and Suspension Techniques sway bars.
The bushings were a pain to install, and as with most of my projects, I got so involved in the task I neglected to snap pictures (sorry). I need someone to snap pictures of the things I do, so I can get on with the job at hand.
The change in handling with just the bushings is significant. Much stiffer, but much more precise and controlled. The entire process is thoroughly documented on the Sentra Suspension Page
